"Takers"

Takers is a movie that is supposed to be coming out on February 19, 2010. It stars Idris Elba, T.I., Paul Walker, Chris Brown, Michael Ealy, Matt Dillon, Hayden Christensen, and Jay Hernandez. Takers is about a group of theives who plan a heist but are cut short when a determined detective does everything in his will to try and stop them. Judging from the trailer, it looks like it's gonna be and ok movie. I'd probably go see it just because of all the fine men in it to be honest with you! :) Check out the "movie poster" after the jump.

Whitney Houston - I Look To You

First off, let me say I LOVE this song. Her album is just HOTT period! TEAM WHITNEY! But this is the video to her single, I Look To You from her latest album of the same name which was released on August 31st. If you haven't copped it yet, make sure to do so because it is a great comeback album for Whitney. She is STILL a BEAST!

Woooooooowwwww!!!

MAJOR kudos to Day26 for this "So Good" video!! It is sexy to the umpteenth power! Willie, Willie, Willie...no words can express how amazing he looked in the first few seconds of that video! VERY sexy Day26, great job. But all I can say is if they can keep making videos like this, they might actually become relevant enough...POW! :P

"Good Hair"

If you're a black person, you pretty much know all about the whole debate of hair in the black community. You know that some people are pro-natural while others like perms and weaves. Some people prefer hair down to their behinds, while other like simple, yet chic, pixie cuts. As of late, hair has been a big issue in the black community and many are speaking out on it. You have regular people, actresses, comedians, models, talk show hosts, and soo many others buzzing about hair. Check under the hood why this dead protein is so important to some.

MJ Getting It In!

When I saw this, I just HAD to post it. Above is a video of Michael Jackson in the car with his good friend, Brett Ratner, while dancing to R. Kelly's "Ignition". It really made me smile to see MJ having fun like this because I haven't really seen him like this before. I love it all!

New Music: Nicki Minaj

This new music post is spotlighting Nicki Minaj. Nicki Minaj is a 23 year old Queens native who is currently unsigned, although she is well sought after. I can understand why, too. Nicki is trying to bring back the presence of a female MC in the music game right now, and is well on her way to doing that. Her rhymes are dope and she's real...she might can't conduct an interview, but she's raw! I like the chick and think she can make it big and not fall behind like most female MC's. Get into this!

After the jump, you can check out her new mixtape "Beam Me Up Scotty," along with its tracklisting, and a link to her Myspace.

Chris Brown Apologizes

As most of you know, back in February, it was reported that Chris Brown allegedly beat Rihanna. The allegations came out to be true, Chris was found guilty and sentenced to community service, both of their fanbases decreased somewhat (especially Chris's), yadda yadda yadda. So 5 months later, Chris releases a PSA apologizing to everyone for his action. I really think he was sincere and meant it. Even if he did read the whole thing from cue cards or whatever, as some are saying, he DIDN'T have to do it at all. So I applaud Chris for stepping up and finally releasing a statement...better late than never.

Even when the whole situation came about, I still supported Chris Brown and called myself one of his fans. Hopefully he can gain back the respect of many others. Keep ur head up C. Breezy!

StyleStar!: Amber Rose

Ok, guys this is gonna be something new I'm gonna try and do every so often. It's called "StyleStar!" and it will be exhibiting several different looks of a certain celebrity who I think has hella style and who has did his/her thing in the fashion department as of late.

This edition of StyleStar! is dedicated to Miss Amber Rose. Some of you may not know who she is, but she is currently Kanye West's main chick. Although you may think she's trying too hard, or that she's not cute, you cannot deny that Miss Rose is BADD! Not many women can pull off the buzz cut, but Amber's is hott! I love that she has an attitude like "Eff it!" and that she dresses to please herself. That gives you an A++ in my book! Keep doing your thing Amber, I see you!

Michael Jackson + Farrah Fawcett Pass Away

As most of you have heard, pop legend Michael Jackson died today at 5:26PM EDT. He was 50. It is said that a call was placed to 911 to report that Michael had collapsed at his home in west L.A., and once the paramedics got there he was unresponsive.

Today is a sad day; not only in the music world, but in the world as a whole. Michael Jackson was one of the best to ever do what he did and his music will live on forever. He is truly an iconic legend that no one will be able to forget. From elders to children, all have heard and enjoyed Michael's timeless music. I would just like to give my deepest condolences to the Jackson family at this time. I know it's hard to lose a loved one, but we must be thankful that they no longer have to suffer on this place called earth. Rest in Peace Michael Jackson :(

And also, I would like to give my condolences to the Fawcett and O'Neal families. Farrah Fawcett also died today at 12:28PM EDT from a 3-year battle with anal cancer. She was 62. I didn't know much about her, but she was a lady loved by many. I do know that she was an 60's-70's icon who many grew to love and cherish. She was such a beautiful lady, the first time I saw her as a child, I thought she was simply GORGEOUS, and I still do. I even wanted my hair to be like hers, but I didn't have that much lol. Rest in Peace Farrah Fawcett :(

Lil Mama Can Sing??

I was on twitter and one of my friend posted a link saying how Lil Mama can "SANG" so I just HAD to check it out! Sure enough, there she is singing Alicia Keys' "No One" to her boyfriend [who is a CUTIE! Go Mama!]. I think she sounds pretty decent to be quite honest!! The only thing that disturbed me a little was the way she was looking at him while she was singing lol. I still think she's a better rapper. That girl can SPIT...better than some male rappers...*OOOH!

I Think I've Fallen in Love...

This post is dedicated to one of the two items that has taken over my heart: the Nike Swooshless Blazer. *cue the heavenly chorus* If you didn't know, I'm a sucker for fly tennis shoes and a hott pair of heels...check the closet lol! I just love shoes...well, fashion! But I don't need to say anymore, I'm gonna let the shoes talk for themselves.

These shoes are HOTT!! When I first spotted these at TheShoeGame.com, I almost had a heart attack! Here's the details via TheShoeGame:

"Nike just released a new Blazer and it seems they’re going swooshless. As an innovative alternative, the Nike moniker is featured along the side panel. The Blazer is featured in a suede/patent upper with the Nike label in a safari print. The grey/yellow colorway gives a cool subtle vibe to the shoe overall. A hot Blazer or cold product? Could we possibly see more Blazer releases like this in the future? You decide. These are available now at select Nike retailers."

When I read that they're available at select Nike retailers, I began my search then and there. But lucky me, living in Alabama probably won't be able to find them ANYWHERE [except maybe the Eastdale Mall in Montgomery]. But I'm gonna keep looking until I find them, I might have to end up ordering them tho...

Don't you just love basketball??

I LOVE basketball!! I may not be the best player on the team, but I have a passion for the sport...it's amazing. I've been watching the playoffs religiously lol. If you didn't know, my all-time favorite team is the Los Angeles Lakers [thanks Uncle Anthony!]. I've been a Laker fan since I was very young and I still am! Last year, I was pulling for them, but my boys got beat by the Celtics. Although Orlando is pretty fye [I will give them their props], I still believe the Lakers are gonna take it all. I just knew it was gonna be the Cavs and the Lakers, but obviously it didn't work out that way. If it did though, I would still be going for the Lakers but if the Cavs would have won, I can't say that I would have been too disappointed because I like them too.

But while I'm not the biggest Kobe fan, I like the dude and he HAS been doing his thing...you can't deny that! Alot of people don't like him and/or hate on him, but I don't see why he's so bad in their eyes. Can someone enlighten me?? I REALLY wanna know what's so wrong with Kobe. But it's whatever, L.A. is still about to get in the Magic (pause).

How Rude Can You Be??

Earlier this week, MC Hammer and his 11-year-old son made an appearance on the Today Show. Well, it seems that Ms. Kathy Lee tried to embarrass Hammer about blowing 33 million dollars...in front of his son! But Hammer didn't fall for it, he strayed away from the question in a very good manner which I think was done very properly. Although she tried to get smart about it, he still handled his.

Some people just don't know what's appropriate and what's not...

Who's House???? Run's House!!!!

Run's House Season 6 Trailer

Ok guys, I was over at Global Grind today checking out what's new in the urban world and I saw a post from Jo Jo Simmons talking about the new season of "Run's House." It'll be airing on June 15th on MTV at 10p.m. Eastern, but 9p.m. for those of us in Central time.

This looks like it's gonna be the best season yet, and I am soo excited!! Most reality shows are everything but reality, but I really think this is one of the realest. The trailer is hilarious and I was over here laughing it up at some of the clips. Make sure you guys tune in and see what's new with the Simmons family. Gotta love a powerful black family! :)

Day26 - Stadium Music

Pretty Ricky Ricky Rickaaayyy

OK, so the Internet is buzzing of Spectacular of Pretty Ricky and his grinding techniques. When I logged onto Twitter this morning, I saw a tweet from @Willie_Day26 where he was talking about something that was so funny that it had him laughing for "2 hours straight." So when he posted the link, I just HAD to see what it was. The link was to the video, but unfortunately Mr. Spectacular had took it down! But then Willie tweeted that Media Takeout had it, and this was when I became shocked and appalled.

I went on there and saw the video, and honestly, I couldn't even watch the whole thing! This dude, who talks about f*cking and sucking in almost everyone of his songs, has posted a video challenging every R&B artist to a grinding contest...wtf, who does that?? I mean, I'm not even gonna knock his fun because if he likes it then whatever. But what got me was when he challenged the other dudes to grind...naw, not cool bruh!! Umm...I guess just do what you do Spectac, if this gets you a little publicity, carry on!

I Walk Like This 'Cause I Can Back It Up!

The video for Beyonce's "Ego" has been released. Here it is:

I like the last few seconds where she's sitting in the chair getting her "old school dance" on like granny in the club on Sunday night (3:42-3:49)! I spotted this over at C&D (hott ish!)

How Adorable!!!

Aww, when I saw this pic over at Necole Bitchie, my heart melted for 2 reasons. 1)Kiyan is AD0RABLE!!!!! and 2)Carmelo is just gorgeous...I love him without the braids! Go LaLa lol.

In the pic, Kiyan [age 2] is looking on as his dad gives a press conference against the Mavs. And just for the record, Go Nuggets!! :)

Let Me Tell You Who's Fye!!

This dude right here:
If you didn't know, this is DRAKE! He is supposed to be Lil Wayne's prodigy and dude is DOPE! I've been a fan of his since Replacement Girl, which came out about 2-3 years ago? But anywho, I was over at Blogxilla [don't judge me lol] and I spotted this hott track called "I'm Still Fly" by Page featuring Drake. Surprisingly, I've never heard it until now! They just released the video for it although, from what I understand, its been around for a while. But here's the video. Get into it yall!!

Did You Miss Me??

What's up dreamers? It's been a while since I blogged but I'm gonna step up my game 4real! Ok, so let's get back down to business...

How about they're trying to play my girl Bey! Someone has released the so-called "real" performance of Beyonce performing "If I Were a Boy" on The Today's Show like earlier this year, I think. But whatever, they know someone has messed with this audio because there is N0 WAY someone who sings as well as Beyonce could so THIS HORRIBLE! Don't make me go Chris Crocker on yall with a "Leave Beyonce AL0NE!" video lol.

But you know I don't like to end on a bad note...so for something to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, here's a video of Beyonce getting emotional while talking about "Mama Tina." She also talks about the notorious Thierry Mugler dress which many criticized her about. Check it out!

Props to WORLD STAR HIP HOP for the video.

Update

What's up (all my readers, if I had any lol)? I'm just doing a quick little update just to keep it moving along. Well, regarding the post below...one of the Bulldogs did win the State Championship. It was the boys' team, I wish the girls' would have won as well but both teams did VERY well this season. State Champs and State Runners-Up!?!? Oh yeah, job well done, Bulldogs!

I want these shoes soo bad and I might just have to cop them when I go shopping tomorrow. Aren't they just cute? lol They don't look as good on here as they do in person but I bet with the right outfit, they'll be fire!! They're called the Nike Dunk High Supreme Spark Pack Destroyers. And I want this color. I also saw them in green and red...two colors I rarely wear. But there you go!

Prom is coming up!!! Prom will be on March 28 and I believe it's gonna be HOTT!! My dress is THE BUSINESS, ya girl is gonna be looking RIGHT! My dress is like a charcoal color and my date will probably be wearing a black tux, maybe with a charcoal cummerbund, I'm not sure yet. I can't wait because when all my friends and I get together, it's gonna be a great time! I'll post more about that after prom tho.

I think that's all for now. I don't have much else to say! Visit me on myspace: www.myspace.com/goodies010 I don't get on as much, but hey, I do sometimes.... Be easy!

State Championships at the BJCC

For those high school basketball fans out there - it's time. Time where both girls' and boys' basketball teams from all over the state come to Birmingham, Alabama, to compete for the state championship titles (and bragging rights) in whichever class they dominate.

Although there is some stiff competition out there, as always, I must say I will definitely be rooting for the Anniston High School Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs! This post is dedicated to them and what winning a state title will do for the city of Anniston and Anniston High School.

Anniston is quite a small city; not minute, but not massive either. Many of the people that live here are retirees or people who have been here their whole lives and have raised their families and subsequent generations in the city. At 9:00 p.m., almost everything is closed, and there is really nothing to do for fun except for going to the movie theater, mall, bowling alley, or skating rink - or Wal-Mart. Despite this, many of us Annistonians love our city though out-of-towners wouldn't deem it as much.

That is why we as a city need one or both of these state titles. Anniston High School winning a state title in basketball would definitely boost the morale of both residents of Anniston and students of the school. Anniston High School has a fairly poor reputation around the city, but winning a state title in basketball would empower the students and make them feel like winners. It would also bring about good news to come out of the high school instead of the usual bad news.

If either of the Bulldog teams win the championship, I'm sure there will be a great celebration on their behalf. Anniston is a declining city who has been knocked down quite a few times and needs some good cheer brought to town. If the Bulldogs were to bring home a title, it would be more than a trophy, a championship ring, or bragging rights, it would be a major confidence boost to all of Anniston and would be something good that the city is known for.

"Here come the Bulldogs. Here coming the Bulldogs. Someone's in the stands yelling, 'Hooray for Bulldogs!' 1-2-3-4 Who ya gonna yell for? Bulldogs, that's who!!"

Let's go Bulldogs! We're all rooting for you!
